Student Tobacco Surveys
2016 Survey
In February 2016, the Student Senate conducted a survey to ascertain the students' support in creating a Tobacco Free KU. The survey responses to the 3 questions asked demonstrate the students' support for the initiative:
Question 1: Would you support entirely banning tobacco products on campus?
Yes 56.86% (2143) – No 39.21% (1478) – Prefer not to answer 3.93% (148)
Question 2: Would you support banning smoking on campus, but allowing other tobacco products?
No 57.87% (2181) – Yes 38.90% (1466) – Prefer not to answer 3.24% (122)
Question 3: Would you support the University designating "smoking areas"?
Yes 72.30% (2725) – No 24.81% (935) – Prefer not to answer 2.89% (109)
2013 Survey
On March 27, 2013 a survey regarding a more restrictive policy was sent out to the University of Kansas student body. The survey was sent out to 24,435 students, and of those 3,711 students (15%) participated in this survey. The results to this survey can be found below.
